Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Teacher Workflow on Mobile Devices. This module and the others like it have been created to give you a self-paced introduction to a variety of topics related to learning and teaching on mobile devices.

Each module is composed of the following sections:

Overview - description of the main ideas within the module, the driving objectives, and the essential questions

Investigation - curated pathway for learning about your module’s topics complete with explanations, links and ideas for learning

Application & Discussions - You’ll complete a specific activity related to the module topic that asks you to put your learning into action, and a link to posting and sharing your learning for deeper discussion.

Further Investigation - If the initial Investigation was dipping your toe in the learning, this section gives you a chance to dive in, explore things more deeply, and provide yourself with an archive of resources for shifting your practice.

Module Overview

Objective: Teachers will be able to confidently manage and create a professional mobile workflow.  

Essential Questions:

  • Why is creating a mobile workflow important? 
  • What does a mobile workflow look like and how will it shift and impove my practices?
  • How are others using mobile deivces to make their teaching workflow more efficient?
  • How can I begin to thoughtfully alter my workflow to take advantage of the affordances of this device? 

Vocabulary: 

  • Mobile Devices:  A portable electronic device that connects to the internet enabling the user to perform computing tasks.
  • Connected Educator: A connected educator holds the beliefs that educational opportunities should be accessible to all students, learning commuities thrive when there is full participation of all members and that learning has meaning when it is embedded in the social fabric and cultural identity of the group.  

How does this module align with Tier 1 and the Teaching & Learning Cycle?

  • Formative and summative assessment: Developing a mobile workflow will enable teachers to get formative and summative assessments more quickly and increase their ability to provide timely feedback and adjust lesson plans accordingly.  
  • Instruction: A mobile workflow will enable teachers to provide instruction that is available beyond the classroom thus extending student learning time and facilitating content review.  
  • Intervention: A mobile workflow allows teacher to easily differentiate instruction and provide academic support in a confidential and timely manner. 

How does this module align with Colorado Teacher Quality Standards? 

This module aligns with Quality Standard III because it enables the teacher to use technology in an appropriate way that will enhance instruction and student learning.  

  • Quality Standard III - Teachers plan and deliver effective instruction and create an environment facilitates learning for their students 
    • Element D: Teacher thoughtfully integrate and utilize appropriate available technology in their instruction to maximize student learning.

Google Drive - View & Upload:This resource, created by Google, helps users view and upload files on their mobile devices. 
Google Drive App: This resource, created by Google, highlights the ways in which you can use the Google Drive App on your iOS mobile device. 

This short YouTube video shows users how to transfer work from Keynote and Pages into Google Drive.
